HIXSON CULTURE
When you join Hixson, you enter a culture where
associates are proud to be part of a unique team. Hixson has an environment
where every team member is given the opportunity to flourish:
- Each Hixson associate spends at least 40
hours of work time per year continuing their education, whether
advancing their knowledge of a specific discipline or working on
interpersonal skills.
- Hixson believes that leadership springs from knowledge and abilities
as well as seniority. Our associates are encouraged to share what
they know and are rewarded based upon their contributions to our
success, not driven by factors such as age or tenure of service.
- The members of the firm that own Hixson believe in sharing its'
profits with all associates based on their contribution to the company's
success and have lived up to this by distributing significant bonuses
in 20 of the past 25 years. They also believe in planning for a
40 to 50 hour work week (vs. 60+) for the sake of our associates
and clients and the quality of the complex projects we deliver.
- In-house capabilities include:
Accounting, Architecture/Interior Design/Animation, Automation,
Client Development, Civil Engineering, Construction Administration,
Continuous Improvement, Cost Estimating, Electrical Engineering,
Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, Information Systems,
Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering,
Production Planning, Project Management, Refrigeration, Structural
Engineering, and Systems Engineering Support Services.
The result of these policies is a very low turnover
rate (Hixson's rate is about half of the industry average). That means
stability in our careers, stability for our company, and most important,
effective, knowledgeable and experienced performance from our associates
for our clients. It all adds up to a great place to work! (In 2004 we
won an award for
being one of the best small/medium places to work in America.)
