REFRIGERATION PROJECT ENGINEER

Opportunity:

For a project engineer to provide technical leadership to an integrated team of architects, engineers and project managers for central plant and packaged industrial refrigeration systems.  Build on current knowledge of engineering by providing design engineering services for clients throughout North America.  This key role will develop a broad set of engineering competencies, technical design knowledge, start-up and consultation and problem solving skills.

Position:

Reports directly to the Manager of Refrigeration. Focuses on the design and integration of ammonia, halocarbon and chilled water systems for the food, R&D and pharmaceutical industries. Responsibilities include client contact, project conceptualization, contract document preparation, cost estimating, specification writing, shop drawing review, construction coordination and budget monitoring. Non-project responsibilities include mentoring junior engineers and designers, departmental and company improvement activities and personal/professional development. This position will proactively interact with clients involving diagnosis of systems, design option analysis and assistance with OSHA PSM documentation requirements.

Candidate:
  • BSME, BSChE, or related degree; PE a plus.
  • 10+ years experience in design & troubleshooting of industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Proven understanding of refrigeration control systems.
  • AutoCAD and Excel proficiency.
  • Available to travel for facility evaluations, construction site visits and client meetings.
