This project was the construction of a new 7,000 ton ammonia refrigeration system to replace an existing system. The objective was to reduce energy costs, improve reliability and improve maintenance accessibility. It was critical to avoid production downtime during construction and start-up phases.

The challenge of making over 30 branch connections while maintaining plant operations was accomplished by developing a multi-phased master plan. The project was designed with multiple platform levels so that all critical components are accessible from a standing position.

All objectives were met or surpassed and the project was delivered under budget. Today the new ammonia refrigeration system is delivering an approximate 10% annual savings, returning nearly $300,000 to the company's bottom line every year.
