One of the most technologically advanced facilities of its kind, the H.P. Hood Extended Shelf Life (ESL) beverage manufacturing plant in Virginia was created by Hixson to help the client manage the continued, rapid growth it was experiencing in its business.

The $100MM greenfield facility features nearly 40,000 SF of processing area housing three Ultra High Temperature (UHT) processing systems with room for additional systems; multiple silos, tanks, blenders, blow molding and other essential equipment; more than 20,000 SF of office, production, and employee welfare areas; packaging areas; laboratory space; both dry and cold sotrage areas; and a multiple-bay shipping/receiving dock. An on-site waste water treatment facility was also a feature of the project.

Designed for flexibility to accommodate growth and changing business needs, the plant has been expanded several times since first opening its doors.
