Department Store
Baton Rouge, LA

Hixson was the architect and engineer for the new Maison Blanche (now Macy's) Department Store built at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. The three-level store is 206,000 SF with the third floor designed as a penthouse office complex. The glass entry atrium extends the full height of the store allowing the merchandise beyond to be visible from the shopping center. The store includes a hair and nail salon, a day spa and a market centre cafe. The cosmetics department is designed as an "open sell" concept with walk through showcases and is surrounded by hand painted murals of Louisiana and New Orleans scenes.
