A Tale of Two Chris’: The Changing of the Guard at Hixson
It is with a mixture of sadness and joy that Hixson announces the retirement of Chris Harmon, P.E., a Hixson associate since 1979 (and a co-op with our firm for 18 months prior to his official start date). Chris, who was a member of Hixson’s Board of Directors and the Manager of Hixson’s Project Management department, was an invaluable member of the Hixson team throughout his 40+ years with our firm. According to Chris, “When you think about how things were back then – no computers, cell phones, internet, email, etc. – instead it was hand drafting, pocket protectors and handwritten memos on duplicate carbon paper. It’s a wonder how we got anything done!” While we are sorry to see Chris go, we wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.
With Chris Harmon’s departure, Hixson is happy to announce that Chris Jarc, P.E., PMP, LEED AP, has been named to the role as the Project Management Department Manager. Chris, who is also an officer of our privately held firm, will lead the group that serves as the primary point of communication between Hixson project teams and the client, as well as overseeing project scopes, schedules and budgets. Chris has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and has been a Project Manager with Hixson since 2001. During that time, he has been involved on projects of all sizes in segments such as bakery, beverages, meats, flavors and ingredients, prepared foods, and more. Chris holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University and resides in Loveland, Ohio.
