Understanding Flues in Storage Racks

In storage applications, flues – the space between rows and pallet positions that provide a vertical line of sight from the floor to the ceiling – provide a channel for heat from fires to vent vertically, while also allowing sprinkler water to flow down and slow the ability of fire to spread horizontally.
