A Look at Greenbuild 2024

Recently, Hixson Architectural Designers Ryan Godorhazy and Kyle Munn attended Greenbuild 2024 held in Philadelphia, PA. Hosted by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Greenbuild 2024 brought together professionals from the architecture, construction, engineering, and environmental sectors to explore the latest innovations in green building practices.

While at Greenbuild, Kyle and Ryan attended a range of educational sessions, workshops, and exhibits on topics such as renewable energy, LEED certification, climate resilience, and green construction materials. Two of the biggest takeaways they noted from the event:

  • There is an industry goal of net-zero carbon emissions from buildings by 2050.
  • LEED v5, to be released in 2025, will place a larger emphasis on decarbonizing the built environment.

Attendance at conferences such as Greenbuild 2024 is part of Hixson’s commitment to provide up to 40 hours of industry-based professional development for our associates each year. Click here to learn more!
