Hixson has provided architecture and engineering services for numerous projects at the Samuel Adams Cincinnati Brewery for over a decade. For this $85MM project, Hixson designed building, utilities, and infrastructure for additional canning lines, a new AS/RS building, a new ISEP building, and a renovation of an existing warehouse. Extensive site modifications were also completed, including updated traffic flow, parking, site security, and a new guard house.

Boston Beer founder Jim Koch stated that the renovations to the nearly 100-year-old brewery set in the middle of the city’s complex downtown landscape required, in his words, “a lot of ingenuity and creativity.”  With the project team, “we were able to figure out a way to not only keep this brewery going, but make it a world-class brewery in terms of quality and efficiencies.”
